In this occasion I want to write these lines to give personally a welcome to our new signings, and I will take advantage to do a declaration of principles about some current affairs.
Jordi Roca and Eddie Roca (without familial relation between them, no confusions) train already part of our technical staff, in studio and live. Both are recognized professionals with wide experience and they believe and bet for Flowersongs's concept. His incorporation like habitual members in the staff will allow to offer you some extras that you will surprise pleasingly.
Welcome to the FSTF world, guys! Become you comfortable, we have a lot of work ahead.
Well, I have doubted very much if to write this here or not, but I believe that it's very important that all we, the artists, let's do our own declaration about the current situation. Also it's very important that I clarify that this is Flowersongs's personal reflection and own mine, an opinion that never wants to be a dogma and that respects any other visions. This is the magic of the real freedom spirit.
Nowadays in our country we have a authentic commotion about the Sinde law. A law that allows the government could suspend your connection to Internet and undertake the legal actions that it sees suitable to sanction the person who has unloaded or shared contents with copyright without authorization in the net.
This is not new. All the countries have taken his measurements around this matter for time. Personally I think that the one who always seems to remain free in this "witchhunt" are the authentic problem in charge of the "problem", the communication companies. They are those who have offered us these tools and those who have not wanted to do of it one authentic way of cultural experience, only another tool for the resistance to change and accomodation in the leisure... but I don't want to lose a lot of time with my own ideas in this space in which I speak in representation.
Whole people in Flowersongs have a very clear and transparent attitude on our own rights in our work. Our studio productions are destined for the free unload and the free utilization. We are jazz musicians and the jazz is something alive and organic that really is to be lived in live. The "tinned" products are only a tool of knowledge and a way for sharing ideas. The studio work must not be the aim, it must be only a tool to the service of the authentic aim: the concerts, the common experience between the artist and his public.
We have grown up in a culture that rewards the egoism, the sense of the possession, the lack of respect. Possibly this it's not the way, at least it's not my way. We believe that this is of our property, our house, our car... and really the authentic possession of all these material things are in the hands of our bank, or our financier. Let's change the concept, ok? We are going to give, instead of asking. The real way for the change and for shake it is the real colaboration. We all, you and we, have the tools and the talent. We can do it! The governments and the corporations always has a terrible lack: they don't have authentic imagination, they cannot "create". The war is not out, the real war is inside ours. Be careful with your own ego and your property sence!
I insist: this is our opinion in this, our project. We respect other musicians' ideas with that we play and when we do it with them we play in his own rules. But here, in Flowersongs, we have a firm attitude towards our own contribution in the world as artists and like band.
For technical adjustments and booked dates our recording has been postponed for a few weeks. Don't worry, there's will be only a few weeks and in this time you will have news of the band in videos, some concerts and other surprises. It's possible that I turn to write again here, but speaking what really we are interested all: speaking about music. Our staff will take charge the latest information about ours new news.
I want to be grateful also with the Fanatic Guitars People, and specially at Juanjo Verdú for his collaboration in our documentary, giving his facilities, equipment and services. Thanks, guys. We stay in contact.
Live the life.
